Our special Harp Fest NZ 2026 arrangement of 'The Golden Kelp' has been adapted from the original composition for Celtic harp and Shakuhachi, and now arranged for 3 intermediate lever harps.
You can sign up for the Intermediate Harp Ensemble regardless of whether you are a full weekend attendee at Harp Fest NZ or not! Music is available from 1 January 2026. |

Composer Clíona Molins says:
"In this original soundscape, you can imagine yourself swimming above kelp forests. Its distinct underwater tempo is to calm us. This music is inspired by a love of snorkelling in my local marine park where the golden kelp forests are abundant and provide important habitat for marine diversity. My passion is also to bring awareness to the vast Great Southern Reef surrounding the more temporal waters of Australia. This 8000 kilometre set of interconnected reefs is a biodiversity hotspot. Research is highlighting the future threats to this reef due to climate change and many other factors.
In 2023 I took a pledge to bring awareness to the Great Southern Reef and find out more about the work being done by the Kelp Forest Alliance."
